3rd class in Room 31 created designs for a tent for a lego figure and then used various materials to make their tents. A very creative afternoon!

We had a great day Orienteering in Carlow Town Park today with 4th and 5th classes. 3rd classes spent the afternoon mapping out the park on a walk and will be now ready for full orienteering soon. Thanks to all more »

Fourth class room 13 enjoyed a 2 – D shape hunt around the school. We found lots of interesting regular and irregular shapes. We took pictures of them with the iPads and uploaded our pictures to Seesaw. Some children decided more »
Our Girls Soccer team finished in 2nd position in the FAI Carlow Schools competition last Friday having played really well in all their matches and narrowly missing out on the top spot. The boys team played great also and finished more »
Well done to our two Table Quiz Teams who represented St Fiacc’s N.S in thefinal of the St Abban’s Table Quiz series last Thursday. Both teams did really well finishing 10th and 11th out of 50 teams overall. Well done more »
5th and 6th class students are busy this week starting their Maths lessons using Minecraft Education as part of our Digital Learning Framework and numeracy plan. Today we were learning about Area and Volume by using the Minecraft Education platform.
Fourth class room 13 have been exploring 2 – D shapes. We have used the Pro – Bots to draw 2 – D shapes, lines and angles. We have used tangrams to make pictures with our 2 – D shapes more »
Fourth class room 13 were learning about weight and measurement. We decided to put what we had learned into practice and make pancakes! They were delicious! We had lots of fun measuing the ingredients and even more fun tasting them!
Fourth class have been learning about length. We were using metre sticks to draw different lengths on the yard. It was lots of fun!
Fourth class room 13 had a wonderful time celebrating World Book Day. Some children dressed up as their favourite charachter and the they read an extract from their favourite books! It was a fun day!
On the 4th of March, our school choir set off to Waterford to perform in the Peace Proms concert. The children learned all their songs and dances and worked really hard in order to prepare for this day! more »
